Q: Cold Chain is becoming more prevalent in clinical trials. What measures can we take to prevent deviations?

A: Technology allows us to track and trace cold chain materials continuously from the moment of despatch to site delivery. Temperature probes within shippers can highlight temperature excursions along the supply chain. Where materials are particularly temperature sensitive and potentially at risk Sponsor companies will provide fridges and freezers from source to destination and will contract with premium courier providers for door-to-door delivery. It is highly recommended that you ensure all customs/regulatory requirements are correctly completed prior to shipment so as to enable smooth clearance through customs, thereby eliminating time out of environment.
